Could your school help us change lives? Organise a non-school uniform day and support Peterborough & District RDA.
Peterborough & District Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) is inviting schools across the local area to get involved in a fun and meaningful fundraising initiative to support children with disabilities.
We are asking schools to host a non-school uniform day and invite pupils to make a small donation in return for wearing their own clothes for the day.
It's a simple idea that brings plenty of fun to the school day while helping a local charity continue its valuable work.
A Small Donation Can Make a Big Difference
For 60 years, Peterborough & District RDA has been helping children with disabilities experience the benefits of spending time with horses and ponies.
Our riding sessions give children opportunities to develop confidence, improve balance and coordination, learn new skills and celebrate personal achievements in a supportive environment.
Our wonderful horses and ponies are at the heart of everything we do, but caring for them and providing our sessions comes with ongoing costs.
Donations help towards essential supplies, horse care, riding equipment and the resources needed to keep our activities running.
By taking part in a non-school uniform day, your school can help us continue providing these special opportunities for local children.
Every pupil who takes part and every donation collected can help make a difference.
An Easy Fundraising Idea for Your School
Organising a non-school uniform day couldn't be easier!
Schools can choose a date that suits their calendar and invite pupils to come to school in their favourite clothes in exchange for a small voluntary donation.
You could even make it extra special by introducing a horse-themed day, encouraging pupils to wear something green, or inviting everyone to dress in their favourite colours.
Teachers could use the opportunity to talk about disability inclusion, volunteering, animal care and the importance of supporting local charities.
It's a fantastic way to bring pupils together around a shared cause and show them how small acts of kindness can have a positive impact on their community.
Get the Whole School Involved
Whether your school has a few hundred pupils or several thousand, every fundraising effort is valuable.
You could involve school councils, form groups, parents and staff to help organise the event and spread the word.
Why not set your school a fundraising target and see what you can achieve together?
You could also share photographs of your fundraising day with us, helping us celebrate your school's support and inspire other schools to get involved.
With your help, we can raise vital funds while encouraging the next generation to think about kindness, inclusion and community spirit.
Help Us Create Brighter Futures
As Peterborough & District RDA celebrates 60 years of making a difference, we want to ensure that children continue to have opportunities to experience the joy and benefits of horses for many years to come.
By hosting a non-school uniform day, your school can play a part in our story.
Imagine what local schools could achieve if they all came together to support this wonderful cause!
One school day. One small donation. A big difference to children who benefit from our horses and ponies.
